CCTVOutlet is an online store focused on selling CCTV equipment to end-user customers that want to DIY their home or business. The company offers a variety of selected brands providing every possible option for the customers.
The world of CCTV is complicated and choosing the right equipment can be very stressful.
The main task was to separate and categorise all the products in a way that the user can easily understand and guide them from the main options to the most precise products of their choice with a multi-select side menu.
Once the users have landed on the product page they can scroll through a series of graphics representing the individual product capabilities and a multiple-choice of compatible add-on products that will be needed.

BUSINESS GOALS
Looking at competitors’ websites we discover that most of them were congested and overly complicated. By trying to promote all products simultaneously may work with experience customers, thought for anyone new it’s an overwhelming and freighting experience.
That experience lead us to focus more on the UX design of the store based on new inexperienced customers. We realize that we need one guide menu that will simplify your choices and progressively narrow down your options, and a second one with less emphasis for more experienced users that need quick access from the index page to the closest category.
